IPM and Correct PPPs Usage
TİSİT supports integrated pest management (IPM) in the plant protection and recommends pesticides usage as a last solution in IPM Program.
Integrated Pest Management is a systematical approach against plant diseases and harmful weeds. If alternative control methods are not enough, chemical approaches can be used. Shortly chemical control methods are the last methods to be applied. For a long period of time, IPM system is applied for the purpose of both application and research. In this manner there remarkable success stories in Turkey. However as environmental safety conscience increases, there is a necessity to develop the current systems. IPM is not an alternative to chemical usage.
